Summary: Sports Medicine Australia (WA Branch) has developed 'Get SMART', (Sports Medicince Awareness & Response Training), an online learing course. This non-accredited course is suitable for people who have an interest or are involved in sport or physical activity but who hold no formal qualifications in sports medicine. This course will give you a greater awareness of injury prevention and immediate management as well as knowledge on a range of sports safety issues.

Additional modules focusing on specific subject areas have also been developed including Sports Nutrition, Taping for Sport & Drugs in Sport

Description: Minimum System Requirements:
The following minimum system specifications are required for Get Smart to run efficiently;

Minimum browser level Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape Communicator 6.0 and above.
800 x 600 or greater resolution in 16-bit high colour
Macromedia flash plugin Version 9 (available free from the Macromedia site)
Internet connection (minimum 56k modem, Broadband recommended)



Range:
  • Get SMART

    Get SMART is a non accredited course for people who have an interest or are involved in sport or physical activity but who hold no formal qualifications in sports medicine. It is aimed at teachers, coaches, parents, students, in fact any sports participants. Participation in this course will give you a greater awareness of injury prevention and immediate management as well as knowledge on a range of sports safety issues.


  • Sports Nutrition module

    This module covers basic aspects of nutrition and hydration to help individuals optimise their performance in physical activity and sport.

    This module covers basic taping techniques for the ankle, finger and thumb.
